Public Innovators
Public Innovators, a nonpartisan Root Cause initiative, supports a new wave of government leaders at the city, state, and federal levels who identify and continuously support the most effective, efficient, and sustainable solutions to pressing social problems.
These government leaders are public innovators – officials who open the door to greater innovation and accountability in social problem solving by adopting six key roles to breed transformative change:
- Encourage social innovation
- Foster a supportive policy environment
- Reward social-entrepreneurial initiatives for exceptional performance
- Scale successful approaches
- Produce knowledge to understand performance
- Catalyze public-private partnerships across sectors
