Social Enterprises
Our social enterprises give us on-the-ground experience in turning new ideas into successful organizations that can make a lasting social impact. Seeing the world through the eyes of social entrepreneurs allows us to keep our consulting practice action-oriented and innovative. Learnings from our social enterprises also inform the tools and articles that we develop and disseminate through Root Cause Knowledge Sharing.
Root Cause currently runs two social enterprises:
- InnerCity Entrepreneurs (ICE) promotes job creation, wealth generation, and community development by helping a diverse group of urban entrepreneurs strengthen and grow their existing businesses. More...
- The Social Innovation Forum accelerates the development of enduring solutions to social problems by directing an alternative flow of local resources to innovative, results-oriented organizations striving for efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability. More...
Our Social Enterprise Model
- Entrepreneurship. We make use of the private sector’s best strategic thinking and management practices to develop sound organizational models that connect each social enterprise’s mission to programs and strategies positioned to chip away at the very root causes of the target social problem.
- Innovation. We seek to develop and demonstrate new solutions that promise to bring about enduring social impact.
- Accountability. We commit to continuous self-improvement, and we measure and publicly report our impact annually
- Sustainability. We build social enterprises that capture a variety of funding and revenue streams in order to achieve financial sustainability.
