About Root Cause

Benjapon Jivasantikarn

Principal, Advisory Services

Benjapon Jivasantikarn is a Principal at Root Cause who joined the team in 2009. In her role in Advisory Services, Benjapon leads consulting engagements in business planning, replication planning, performance measurement, board restructuring, prospectus development, and road show presentations for fundraising.

Most recently, Benjapon played a leading role in Root Cause’s partnership initiative, the Campaign forBlack Male Achievement (CBMA), a national membership network that strengthens and connects organizations and leaders committed to improving the life outcomes of black men and boys. Benjapon facilitated CBMA’s business planning process, and subsequently launched the CBMA Social Innovator Accelerator, which provides capacity building to a cohort of BMA Innovators from across the country to accelerate their national leadership and impact.

Prior to Root Cause, Benjapon worked at KPMG, where she advised clients on business incentives and conducted business valuations for corporations in a variety of industries, including financial services, consumer products, and technology. Her entrepreneurial and nonprofit consulting work throughout her career has included an innovative food-services concept, advising early-stage entrepreneurs, and serving on the board of a foundation supporting education in Thailand.

Benjapon’s passion for the social sector stems from her experience growing up in northern Thailand. She witnessed the tremendous discrepancy of life outcomes between those born into wealth and access, and those born into poverty. She saw her father strive against all odds to found a nonprofit college in her hometown, giving rural youth access to higher education -- and she saw how the trajectory of one’s life could be changed by education and opportunity. Benjapon is honored to be working with organizations and leaders who are working to improve lives.

Benjapon attended Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok Thailand, and, after a summer abroad at Baylor University, transferred to complete her degree, where she graduated with a BA in finance and international business. She holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Babson College.

Why do you do what you do?
